Today in 2017

A snow storm passes through Northeast Ohio leaving us with about 6 inches of snow. The year old Troy Built 2100 snow blower did a great job cleaning up the long walk to the bus stop.

Movie History

On this day in 2017 the 8th installment of the Star Wars series comes out in theaters. One big difference is that they are having showings starting at 7pm instead of making fans wait until Midnight. Maybe we'll find out Rey's background.

The 7th movie in the Star Wars series comes out in movie theaters. The title is:
The Force Awakens

It could be the highest grossing movie for one weekend, ever, considering that websites pre-selling tickets crashed due to high volume when they went on sale 3 weeks ago.

[Unlike other releases, this wimpy generation has forced the movie to start showing at 8pm Thursday instead of making everyone wait until midnight, or 12:01AM today.]

Movie History

On this day in 2012 the first of three movies from J.R.R Tolkien's book, Peter Jackson's version, The Hobbit is released. The first is called The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The three movies will be the prequel to the Lord of the Rings series and has several of the same actors and actresses playing the same characters in all 6 movies. The subsequent releases will be on December, 13, 2013 and December 2014.
